This is a very rare Chrysler 300 and only 1 of 2,161 built. Even more rare, the current owners father bought this car brand new in 1968 and to this day, it has remained in the family.
In 1968, Chrysler re-styled the 300 with a bolder new front-end that featured hidden headlights. The V shaped grille styling was dramatic, and the tail lamps were revised to a horizontal position. Side marker lamps were placed on the front bumper and rear quarter panel. Chrome vent moldings were placed behind the arc of the front wheel. Also added were rear fender skirts and this car does have those.
Exterior is Formal Black with a black convertible top (Code BB). The body is very straight and solid. The paint is in average condition for its age and is the original factory paint. All chrome and trim is in good condition as well. The black vinyl top shows some wear, but it is presentable as is. Doors are solid and close with good fit and finish. The tires are brand new. There is an additional set of fender skirts and they are in very good condition.
The bucket seat console interior is the white original interior; no components have been replaced. The dash and console are in good condition. Interior is very clean for its age. Some has yellowed but overall, it presents very well.
Engine is the factory 440 CID/350 HP. The car starts, runs, and drives well. Brakes are good as the rear master cylinder was just replaced.
Options are power windows, power steering, power assisted brakes, power top, AM radio, and clock.
This 68 Chrysler 300 is a great car for someone who wants to have fun with it while slowly doing some cosmetics. Or it is good for the buyer who wants to tweak it to the next level and then sell it. This car is also a great original car for a full frame off restoration.
