Allegheny Trucks Inc. is an authorized dealer for International Trucks the most complete line of trucks available today and offers sales for both new and used trucks. Our service department possesses the ability to diagnose and repair your truck in a timely and professional manner. We pride ourselves in giving our customers the assurance of quality workmanship that is further demonstrated by our team of factory-trained technicians.

In continuing to meet the demands of our clients, Allegheny Trucks Inc. now offers additional services for your transportation needs. Our Body Shop department will get you back on the road as good as new or update your vehicle in graphics or complete body wraps, and our tire division will ensure that we will not only have the tires you need, but will install them correctly and efficiently to ensure your safety. Our towing and roadside service is available 24/7 and will ensure you have as little downtime as possible. When it comes to Parts, look no further with our complete in-house parts department.


Company History:
Allegheny Trucks, Inc. was founded September 1, 1978 by Larry M. Hale. Previously, Larry joined International Harvester in 1965 in Pittsburgh, PA and served in management positions in Linden, NJ, Boston, MA and Vorhees, NJ.
In 1978, Larry Hale and partner George Riley bought the International Harvester factory branch in Altoona, PA. In 1982 Peterman's Garage GMC dealership was purchased and Allegheny Trucks, Inc. moved to the Greenwood road location where it remains today.
Over the years Allegheny Trucks, Inc. has had GMC light, medium and heavy duty truck franchises and also Volvo at this location, but now is exclusively International. In the early 1990's Larry Hale became sole owner.
In 1991 Chris Hale, Larry's son joined the dealership focusing on fixed operations. In 1996 Parts and Service departments started operating 7 days a week, a commitment to providing excellent customer service. September 1998 the Tire department was formed as a Goodyear Tire dealer. 2002 The Wrecker department was started with our first truck built here at the dealership. Late 2002 a 15,000 square foot addition was added to accommodate the steady growth.
By 2006 the Wrecker department had grown to four heavy duty tow trucks and a 53' Landoll tractor trailer making Allegheny Trucks, Inc. a major player in towing and recovery in central Pennsylvania. In August 2011, after 46 years of tirelessly working in the heavy duty truck business, Larry M. Hale died unexpectedly from complications of pneumonia.
